About Sorrowful Separation, A
Hongdo, who has become a Kisaeng (barmaid in Korean traditional bar) to support her elder brother's education expense, loves Young-Ho, who is a friend of her elder brother, and then gets married to him in spite of objection of Young-Ho's parents. Meanwhile, Young-Ho goes to overseas soon to study and Hongdo has been expelled from Young-Ho's parents house. Young-Ho returns home after finishing his study in overseas and gives up Hongdo, and instead gets engaged to be married to a rich man's daughter. Hongdo rushes to the marriage engagement ceremony place, and becomes so much excited to attack the rich man's daughter with a knife. It is Hongdo's elder brother that the policeman who arrives at the killing scene and arrests her.
