About Taipei Story
Shu-chen, a young upwardly mobile executive is at the centre of Taipei Story. People making emotional, social and financial demands of her surround her on all sides. Her father is hoping for her assistance with his own failing business ventures. Her long-time lover Ah Lung is old fashioned and emotionally bankrupt when he is around her. Events conspire to force Shu-chen to the point where she must choose a future overflowing with material wealth, and one completely lacking the intimacy of personal relationships.
