About Summon
In 1754 (30th year under King Young-Jo's reign), Lee Byeok is born as the second son in General Lee Bu-Man family. He is immersed in Christian books and realizes the doctrine. December 1779, a great scholar Kwon Cheol-Shin holds a seminar and Lee Byeok makes a speech on Christian doctrine. It moves up all the audiences and study on Christianity gets more animated. When his comrade Lee Seung-Byeok returns from Beijing baptized with a bible and sacred things, Lee Byeok takes them from him and studies doctrine just staying indoors. He accepts baptism from Lee Seung-Hun and devotes himself on spreading the doctrine. But, the contemporary governing system of Confucianism prohibits spreading of Christianity and begins to prosecute the Christians. Lee Byeok refuses to convert to the end and die a martyr in June 1785.
