About King and I TV Series
Broadcast: August 27, 2007 ~ April 1, 2008
Episodes: 63
For centuries, eunuchs walked two steps behind their kings and queens. With heads bowed and lips sealed, they were confidantes to the throne, players in palace politics, and witnesses to history; but in textbooks and public imagination, eunuchs were nothing more than curious side notes--- until now. Loosely based on the life of the Josun Dynasty's most famous eunuch, The King & I is the first-ever Korean TV drama dedicated to these forgotten royal servants.
Chuh-sun's (Oh Man Seok) humble birth hides a much more important destiny. As a child he befriends Sungjong (Go Joo Won), the future king, and So-hwa (Ku Hye Sun), the daughter of a noble. Sungjong proposes to So-hwa right before his coronation, and asks Chuh-sun to protect her until she can join him in the palace.
