About Toward the High Place
Ji Ki-Cheol taking part in the Korean independence movement and chased by a Japanese military policeman conceals himself in An Gap-Su's house. As Japan forces all the Koreans to worship the shrine, Christianity is shocked by this. Minister Ju Ki-Cheol gets married to O Jeom-Do and is appointed to a church in Pyeong-Yang. Then, he builds a new chapel but he is arrested on the day of the dedication ceremony. The bill about the worship of shrine is passed. At last, Minister Ju is dismissed and the church is closed. Minister Ju dies a martyr in the prison on the night of April 20, 1944.
