A housewife rediscovers her inner rock queen in the 2010 SBS drama I Am Legend. Popular actress Kim Jung Eun (Lovers), who also hosts a music program, stars as the disgruntled wife who's had enough of her unappreciative husband and snobby family. She takes life back into her own hands by becoming the lead singer and guitarist for Comeback Madonna Band along with three other women - Jang Shin Young (The Road Home), Hong Ji Min (City Hall), and Hyun Juni (Beethoven Virus) - looking to reboot their lives. Through music, the four women face brand new challenges and also begin a journey towards happiness on their own terms. The Comeback Madonna Band didn't just rock in the drama, they also gave live performances and topped digital charts in Korea! Lee Joon Hyuk (City Hunter) and Kim Seung Soo (Jumong) co-star in the drama.

Korea's women get together and form a legendary band. A drama that shows the growth of women who comfort their pain with music and find their identity.

First there were the live performances, then the possibility of a musical adaptation. Now the band within SBS drama "I Am Legend", called the Comeback Madonna Band, will be releasing a real full album and perform on live stages.

The band members and actresses are: Kim Jeong-eun on vocals and guitar, Hong Ji-min on bass, Hyeon Junie on guitar, and Jang Shin-young on drums. I can actually see this working, because all of the band members play their own instruments, and most have prior performance experience. Both Hyeon Junie and Hong Ji-min had professional music experience prior to television acting - Hyeon Junie in a rock band, and Hong in musicals - while Kim has performed a few times on her music/talk show Chocolate.

As mentioned previously, music director Lee Jae-hak has been leading the band members in rehearsals, and the foursome have recorded thirteen songs. We've heard a number of them in the drama, but I expect more to come in coming episodes. The album will be released before the drama goes off the air and features rocked-up remakes of old pop hits, as well as a couple originals ("Comeback Madonna" and "You").

A source with the production team said that the four ladies have developed a deep rapport and are planning to perform at live concerts after the drama's end. There are also plans for appearances on television music programs. The album will have the added function of being their guide in mapping out the proposed musical production, which may or may not use the same actors. That decision has not yet been made.

Already songs from the soundtrack are proving to be a hit; the drama versions of "A Million Roses" and "Love Love Love" have performed very well on online music charts, making it to No. 1 on portal site Daum's music chart rankings on the 23rd.

Jun Seol Hee recently divorced after realizing that she deserved to be treated better by her high-flying lawyer husband, Cha Ji Wook, and his arrogant family. Determined to get her life back on track, she returns to her rock band roots, becoming the leader of the Comeback Madonna Band. Her bandmates are fellow 'ahjummas' who have personal problems of their own, and together they search for happiness and personal fulfillment through music.

Storyline
Back in her high school days Jeon Seol-Hee (Kim Jung Eun : Lovers in Paris) was the singer for a legendary rock group, but to support her younger sister's education she started to work as a clerk at a top Korean law firm. While working there she met a bright lawyer named Cha Ji-Wook (Kim Seung Soo : jumong) and eventually married. Seol-Hee then became the daughter-in-law for an ultra wealthy family, but Seol-Hee soon learns that all that glitters isn't gold.

At social functions Seol-Hee's husband instructs her to not speak and just nod in agreement with the others. Her mother-in-law (Cha Hwa Yeon) is incredibly insensitive to Seol-Hee as a person. What pushes Seol-Hee to the edge is when Seol-Hee's younger sister, who is now a doctor, is hospitalized with cancer and needs a bone marrow transplant from Seol-Hee. Seol-Hee's mother-in-law opposes Seol-Hee doing the medical procedure because it will interfere with Seol-Hee's visits to a fertility clinic. Seol-Hee's husband offers no support whatsoever. A few days later at a family dinner, Seol-Hee announces that she will file for divorce.

Seol-Hee, now single again, embarks on a new career as a singer for the "Madonna Band," an all female group consisting of "ahjummas" (older women). Seol-Hee also starts a relationship with Jang Tae-Hyeon (Lee Joon Hyuk : Three Brothers, ), a guitarist and composer ...
