About Karuna
In 1943, the family of Yang Cheon-Su, descendant of Koryo porcelain maker, lives in Yu Cheon-Ri, Bo An-Myeon, Bu An-Kun. His second son Jong-Kil makes earthenwares in secret to his father Yang Cheon-Su to marry to his beloved Bun-Nim. However he is detected by his father and the earthenwares are shattered. As Bun-Nim is about to marry the hunchback son of the landlord by force due to her parents' debt, Jong-Kil runs away with Bun-Nim. As Korean War takes place after liberation, Jong-Kil comes to his hometown as a soldier of North Korean Army. He gets through troubles with his brother Jong-Shik, who becomes an officer of Korean Army, and two brothers are killed together. By the way Jin-Hyeong, Jong-Kil's son, grows up and learns porcelainmaking. He repeats the historical pain which his father experienced once again.
