About Sino-Japanese War and Brave Queen Minbi, The
King's father Dae Wonkun, who controls existing king Kojong as regent, tries to appoint prince Wanhwakung, court lady Lee's son, to the office of the Crown Prince, against which Queen Minbi raises objection and collaborates with Min Seung-Ho's party to let Dae Wonkun retire. Since then, the royal court has been governed by Queen Minbi's party to insist in so called Opening principle and make Treaty of Peace and Amity.
