Cheong-Wun who was hunting in the country in winter meets an avalanche but gets saved by Seol-Yeo. That night he sleeps with her before coming to Seoul. On his wedding day Cheong-Wun is surprised to see Seo-Yeo there. He lets Seol-Yeo live with him as a housemaid, but when she give birth to his child, he makes her leave home. Seol-Yeo suffers a lot from not being able to meet her boy. Her child grows to become a prosecutor who happens to deal with a case of his mother accused of murder. Her boy proposes a death sentence on the accused but Cheong-Wun defends Seol-Yeo. Soon a real criminal surrender himself to justice, and Seol-Yeo is freed but dies, leaving behind her all the suffering of this world.
