About Eoudong
During the reign of Seong-Jong, the 9th King of Yi-Dynasty, the evil customs of Confucianism such as the seven grounds for divorce and predominance of man over woman are permeated with the society. A lady of the respectful family Eo Wu-Dong falls in love with a man of obscure birth but, enraged at the rules of the aristocracy, she leaves husband's house and choose to die. Unexpectedly, a woman named Hyang-Ji rescues her. Taking this opportunity, Eo Wu-Dong becomes a kisaeng (prostitute) and sets out to resist against the wrong customs of history by making the aristocrats her slave taking advantage of her body. Hereby, her husband's house, worrying about their dignity as aristocrat, attempts to remove Eo Wu-Dong by employing a killer. But, she kills herself with her first love for the sake of their free love.
