About Daughter of Fire
A magazine company's chief of the editorial department Hae-Jun suffers from some unknown illness caused by hallucination of a woman of fire and auditory hallucination of rhythm of traditional music. Assuring that the cause of his illness is related to his mother, he sets out to look for his mother Yong-Nyeo's whereabouts. Yong-Nyeo is a shaman who lost husband by violence and went crazy after losing the chance to practice exorcism because of the breaking down movement of the superstition. Thence, she has relations with several men and wanders around and, in the end, rushes into the fire to burn out her resentment together with body. Realizing that his illness is shaman illness, Hae-Jun anguishes for a while but decides to take the shaman's invocation rite. And thus his illness is cured.
