About Rainy Season
During 1950-1953 Korean War, Dong-Man's maternal family stayed at Dong-Man's house to escape from the war. Dong-Man's real uncle is a communist guerrilla, while Dong-Man's maternal uncle, a South Korea Army's soldier, is killed at the battle. Thus, both his real grandmother and maternal grandmother do not like each other. One day Dong-Man informs an unknown person of his real uncle's visit to his home, so that his father is brought to the police. Later, a lot of communist guerrillas are killed, and his real uncle's corpse disappears. His family listens to a fortune-teller's prophecy. On the day when the fortune-teller told them his dead uncle's appearance, a large snake makes appearance instead of his uncle. His maternal grandmother thinks that the snake may be her son's spirit, so that she prepares for foods to soothe the spirit. After knowing such a story, his real grandmother becomes free from long time bad feeling against his maternal grandmother, so that both grandmothers become friendly.
