Volume 1
Volume 1 of The King & I follows the trials and heartaches of three unlikely childhood friends who meet again, in the palace, as king, concubine, and eunuch. Follow along as Chuh-sun's love, loyalty, and sacrifice change the course of Korean history.

Volume 2
The epic story continues in Volume 2 with bitter in-fighting among the highest ranking eunuchs, impeachment trials, resignations, murder plots, secret love affairs, and vows to clean up government corruption. Most importantly, the king must choose one of his three concubines to become his new queen. Will he make the politically correct choice? Or will he choose So-hwa, the love of his life, against both his ministers' and his royal mother's wishes?

Volume 3
Loosely based on the life of Josun Dynasty's most famous eunuch, The King & I is a 63-episode historical TV drama that follows the tumultuous life of Kim Chuh-sun who faithfully served five different kings during his lifetime. Follow along as Chuh-sun's love, loyalty, and sacrifice change the course of Korean history.
So-hwa (Ku Hye Sun) is falsely accused and is forced to leave the palace. Despite Chuh-sun's (Oh Man Seok) desperate attempts to save her, he is forced to do the unthinkable. Chuh-sun protects and cares for So-hwa's son, who eventually becomes the new king. When the new king learns of his mother's awful plight, he and his advisors make everyone pay. With the country in turmoil, will Chuh-sun's pleas to the king be enough to stop the madness?
About King and I TV Series
Broadcast: August 27, 2007 ~ April 1, 2008
Episodes: 63

For centuries, eunuchs walked two steps behind their kings and queens. With heads bowed and lips sealed, they were confidantes to the throne, players in palace politics, and witnesses to history; but in textbooks and public imagination, eunuchs were nothing more than curious side notes--- until now. Loosely based on the life of the Josun Dynasty's most famous eunuch, The King & I is the first-ever Korean TV drama dedicated to these forgotten royal servants.

Chuh-sun's (Oh Man Seok) humble birth hides a much more important destiny. As a child he befriends Sungjong (Go Joo Won), the future king, and So-hwa (Ku Hye Sun), the daughter of a noble. Sungjong proposes to So-hwa right before his coronation, and asks Chuh-sun to protect her until she can join him in the palace.
